Biography

Artist and illustrator Ulrike Steinke, born 1975 in a small village in Mecklenburg lives and works in Munich and Leipzig, Germany. She studied at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst – Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and graduated in 2002. She continued her studies as »Meisterschülerin« in the illustration master class of Professor Volker Pfüller and graduated in 2004. She received grants by both the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation and the Schuler-Foundation. In 2005 she set up her own studio and has been working as a freelance tutor for over a decade.
